Your future. Your way. Let me find the right post-secondary program for you!
This questionnaire will provide me with background information in order to prepare for our meeting. It is also the first step in identifying the client‘s interests, needs, and options regarding their post-secondary journey and later career goals.
During this meeting, discussion will take place to fully understand the client’s strengths, preferences, and long term goals. We will explore a variety of post-secondary programs to get insight into which types of programs are best suited to their needs. This meeting is an opportunity to narrow the client's focus and help them identify they types of programs that are a good fit for them.
Using the information from our meeting, I research programs that are a good fit for the client. I take into account prerequisites, admission averages, program features and options, location, school rankings, and the various pathways the client can take to reach their goals.
Sometimes, after reviewing the information in the Summary Report or after the initial consultation, clients have questions. Sometimes, more detailed information is needed to make an informed decision. Sometimes, it's a matter of talking through the pros and cons of programs before applying. In other cases, after reviewing the information about the programs, the client decides they would like to go in a different direction. Whatever is needed can be provided in follow-up meetings.
As an educational consultant, I work with you and your family to plan the next step on your educational journey. There are often many paths to the same destination. Together, we will find the right one for you!
Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
An educational consultant, also called a higher education consultant, assists students and their parents in planning for post-secondary studies.
While I can help a family at any point in their planning journey, the best time to get started planning is in grade 10 or 11. January to March is optimal for course selections for the following year. I also meet with clients who are in their last year of high school who need to identify their best post-secondary options in order to start the application process. These types of meetings typically take place from August to December.
